New PharmD and Pharmaceutical Sciences students are required to attend orientation. Students learn about program requirements and expectations, services and resources, and begin to bond with their peers, school and university community.
Orientation for incoming pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences students is held during the week before classes start in August. International students must also attend International Student Welcome.
International students must also attend the International Student Welcome. Continuing UB international students are not required to attend. Sessions include:
- Bank accounts in the U.S.
- Campus tours
- HUB Student Center: bill payment and course registration
- Applying for a social security card
- NYS driver's licenses and car registration
- Public transportation in Buffalo
- Libraries
- Tips for international teaching and research assistants
- Academic integrity in the U.S.
- Health insurance
- UB Card
Canadian students are only required to attend the I-20 immigration session, however all students are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible.
