Residency Training Program

Our residency programs provide postgraduate clinical training in either general (PGY1) pharmacy practice or within a specialized (PGY2) area of pharmacy practice. These experiences prepare our residents for advancement within the profession of pharmacy.

  • PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy

    Middleport Family Health Center and The State University of New York at Buffalo School of Pharmacy offer an ASHP/APhA Accredited PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency Program with a focus on community-based patient care.
  • PGY1 Pharmacy
    10/18/24
    This program is administered through the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science (UB SPPS) and the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and is sited at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center (BPC) in downtown Buffalo, NY.
  • PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy

    The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (UB SPPS) and Buffalo Medical Group (BMG) offer an ASHP-accredited PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency.

    To apply to our residency training program, you must possess a PharmD degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy and must be eligible for licensure in New York State. 
  • Preparing for Residency

    A pharmacy residency involves one or two years of postgraduate training (after obtaining your Doctor of Pharmacy degree) that provides hands-on decision making and experience working with other healthcare professionals under the supervision of an experienced preceptor.
