University at Buffalo PharmD/MBA students
Dual and Collaborative Degree Programs
Our innovative and highly sought after dual and collaborative degree programs combine multiple interests into one degree, allowing you to save time, money, and enhance career opportunities.
PharmD/MBA
Our most popular dual degree program, the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the School of Management jointly offer a five-year program leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)/Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
It instills the business background and health science skills necessary to enter leadership positions in health care and beyond. The dual degree program reduces by one year the usual pattern of a four-year PharmD program and a two-year MBA program. It is the longest, most established combined degree program available to our students.
PharmD/MPH
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the School of Public Health and Health Professions jointly offer a five year program leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)/Master in Public Health (MPH) degree. It gives you the opportunity to engage in important public health policy development and health care research to improve patient outcomes.
The multidisciplinary program integrates the skills and knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice with public health, health promotion, disease investigation, chronic disease prevention, and medication safety.
PharmD/MS
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences offers three five-year programs leading to a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)/Master of Science (MS) degree involving advanced coursework and intense graduate level research training. The programs are led by internationally renowned faculty in the fields of drug development and delivery whose research and cutting-edge knowledge has resulted in many novel drug delivery approaches and treatments.
PharmD/MS in Biomedical Informatics
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences jointly offer a five-year program leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)/Masters of Science (MS) Biomedical Informatics degree. It combines pharmaceutical expertise and health care information technology and focuses on developing informatics innovations that provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
PharmD/MS in Pharmacometrics and Personalized Pharmacotherapy
Our Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)/Masters of Science in Pharmacometrics and Personalized Pharmacotherapy (MS PPP) program focuses on advanced training in advanced pharmacokinetics (study of absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of drugs) and pharmacodynamics (study of drug effects and toxicity in treatment of diseases).
PharmD/MS in Clinical and Translational Therapeutics
Our Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)/Masters of Science in Clinical and Translational Therapeutics (MS CTT) program is the only program of its kind in the country, which provides students with a valuable opportunity to be involved in research and training to combat disease.
PharmD/PhD
Our Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)/Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PhD) program integrates the skills and knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice with a focus on cutting-edge research for the development of treatments to prevent disease and improve health. We offer collaborative programs that involve advanced coursework and intense graduate level research training in the Pharmaceutical Sciences. The PharmD/PhD in pharmaceutical sciences typically takes seven years.
PharmD/JD
We are one of a select group of pharmacy schools to offer a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)/Juris Doctorate (JD) program.*
Our program is designed to respond to the shifting dynamics in the delivery of health care, providing the scientific and legal training to excel in careers in biotechnology, intellectual property and the pharmaceutical industry.
*PharmD/JD students must complete the respective programs sequentially and may not step out by year from one program to the other. If a PharmD student takes a leave of absence, they must be aware that the LSAT or GRE could expire before application to the JD program and may need to be retaken.
Combined UB Degrees
Combined UB degrees give you the unique opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) in just seven years of study.
The BS/PharmD program combines three years of undergraduate study in biological sciences and four years of graduate work in pharmacy.
The BA/PharmD program combines three years of undergraduate study in chemistry and four years of professional degree course work in pharmacy.
The BS/PharmD program combines three years of undergraduate study in biomedical sciences and four years of graduate work in pharmacy.
The BS/PharmD program combines three years of undergraduate study in pharmaceutical sciences and four years of graduate work in pharmacy.
