  • Audience: All PharmD professional degree students at UB SPPS.

Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to ensure active in-person engagement with courses, coursework, and course requirements.

Policy: Outlined below are the expectations for maintaining enrollment in the PharmD program, since UB SPPS is accredited as an in-person PharmD program and instruction is intended to take place in person, not remote.

Students that miss 20% or more of consecutive coursework (this is per course and in total) will be required to take a Leave of Absence (LOA), regardless of the reason for non-attendance. This might be for issues like health or account holds. If this is not done voluntarily by the student, the registrar will do it (see: "Involuntary Leave of Absence" on the Student Code of Conduct webpage). Progression will be impacted, tuition and fees will be incurred, financial aid may be impacted and graduation will be delayed.

If the nature of the absence is medical in nature, the student may wish to take an Academic Term Withdrawal.
