Why Attend

Pharmacy law is dynamic and changes frequently because of various reasons: changes in the scope of practice, medication errors, theft, drug abuse, changes in accreditation standards, national standards, etc. Within the past five years, several laws have changed that affected the practice of pharmacy. Pharmacists must keep current in their practice to reflect these changes in the law.

Objectives

  1. List upcoming legislative issues and their potential effect on pharmacy practice.
  2. Summarize recent changes in the Federal and NYS controlled substance acts
  3. Discuss changes in pharmacy practice in NYS
  4. Summarize pharmacist authority with regards to COVID19 testing and vaccinations
  5. Outline new changes affecting pharmacy technicians
  6. Describe Health and Human Services PREP act and the impact on pharmacy practice

General registration fee $75.

Cancellation Policy

We reserve the right to cancel this program due to such factors as insufficient registration. Registrants will be notified in this case. Requests for refunds, minus a $20 service charge, must be in writing and will be honored up to one week prior to the program. After that time, no refunds will be provided.

The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program has been accredited as a live knowledge-based activity. Credit will be uploaded to participants who complete all program components.
