The White Coat Ceremony is a significant and meaningful tradition that symbolizes a student’s commitment to the profession of pharmacy and the professionalism that is expected of them within the school and in their eventual practice.

This event is for new P1s and their guests, as well as SPPS faculty and staff. It will also be live-streamed. Tickets are not required.
Pharmacy students will receive their white coat at Orientation check-in.

Our White Coat Ceremony will take place on the University at Buffalo North Campus in Center for the Arts, Main Stage Theater. Parking is available in Slee A and B lots. There will be no ticketing on this day.
A shuttle leaves for North Campus on Main Street (near Hayes Hall) every 20 minutes. See Stampede Weekday Schedule (Summer Session).
UB will occasionally have a photographer at events such as this. Please be advised that UB may use photographs taken during events for publication in print and online, including social media. Please alert the photographer at the event should you not wish to have your photograph taken.
Bring your white coat and name card. Students will receive these at Orientation check-in. Make sure your white coats are unbuttoned and ready for cloaking.
Transportation
1. You will be instructed to stand up and walk towards the wall closest to the podium. Listen for "Students, please come forward as directed and please be seated when you return to your seats." Please line up one row at a time.
2. Walk on stage and hand your name card to the announcer.
3. Walk to the middle of the stage and we will coat you and give you an Oath and UB Pin (affix to the collar of your coat when you get back to your seat).
4. Exit the stage on the other end and return to your seat.
5. During the program, you will be told to stand and recite the Oath. You will say it WITH the speaker (not after).
6. You may move your name tag to your white coat.
Remain seated until you are asked to stand as a class and be recognized. Once the program is concluded, you will begin to process out of the hall. There will be a group photo and a reception.
