Buffalo Pharmacy Bulletin.

December 2023

Welcome to the next edition of the Buffalo Pharmacy Bulletin (BPB) where we will continue to explore and discuss social issues in health care and how we as academicians, practitioners and scientists can lead and support these issues. The BPB will also keep you updated on the latest school news, highlighting the outstanding work of our UB SPPS community.

Dean Pollack Bulletin

“The best way to ensure we can support and mentor our future pharmacists and research scientists is to make sure we are reviewing and discussing what is currently happening in the dynamic and ever-changing world we live in.”

Looking Ahead to 2024

As 2023 comes to a close, I would like to share my reflections and sincere gratitude to our entire UB SPPS family for all they have done to support a year of transformational change and innovative advances.

Over the past year we have launched a number of major strategic initiatives to better position our students, programs and organizational structure for continued success. These initiatives include reimagining how we educate and support our students, enhancing and expanding our research enterprise, revamping our organizational structure and the launch of a multi-million-dollar faculty and staff hiring initiative. All these new endeavors will allow us to continue our upward trajectory as the nation’s leader in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences.

As I look forward to 2024, my excitement and enthusiasm for our future could not be stronger. We have built a solid foundation to move forward and achieve our goal of being the best school of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences in the country. Being the ‘best’ means our students will be comprehensively supported through their academic journey, our research enterprise will have access to strategic resources to ensure success and we will continue to function as a thoughtful and engaged community partner promoting a culture of respect and acceptance.

I invite you to review the video below which highlights many of our 2023 accomplishments.

My best wishes to you and all those important to you for a very happy holiday season and a new year filled with peace and joy.
