Students receiving an assistantship are expected to work full-time toward the advancement of their PhD program.

• In addition to official University holidays, students are permitted up to 10 working days (2 weeks) of vacation leave per year.
• Extended leave (more than a few days) requires approval from the faculty advisor or Director of Graduate Studies.
• Unused vacation days may be carried over and accumulated for future use (e.g., extended travel or international trips).
