This program is administered through the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science (UB SPPS) and the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and is sited at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center (BPC) in downtown Buffalo, NY.
PGY2 residency programs build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational competency areas, goals, and objectives for advanced practice areas. Residents who successfully complete PGY2 residency programs are prepared for advanced patient care or other specialized positions, and board certification in the advanced practice area, if available.

Graduates will be skilled in providing education to patients and caregivers, pharmacy students, and healthcare providers and will possess project management skills and the skills required to design, implement, manage, and evaluate a clinical psychiatric pharmacy service as well as to prepare for a potential career in academia.
