The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences student chapter of American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) held their annual "Senior Prom" on April 13 at the Brookdale Senior Center in Williamsville, NY.
The ASCP Senior Prom is a "fun way of giving back to the community," says Amanda Rivera, secretary of the ASCP student chapter. A live band performed, light snacks and refreshments were provided, and a prom king and queen were crowned. Over 30 UB SPPS residents, students and friends attended.
ASCP seeks to promote the role of the consultant pharmacist as a health-care specialist. The student branch of the New York State chapter of ASCP, formed in 1997, offers opportunities for students interested in consultant pharmacy.
