Gniazdowski elected Chair-elect AACP Administrative Financial Officers Special Interest Group

Kristin Gniazdowski, associate dean for resource management and unit business officer, has been elected Chair-elect of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Administrative and Financial Officers Special Interest Group (AFO SIG) where she will serve a three-year term.

The AFO SIG contributes financial and administrative expertise to support AACP and its membership in advancing pharmacy education, research, scholarship, practice and service to improve societal health.  Nationally the group provides guidance and direction to academic financial policies impacting pharmacy schools across the country.

Gniazdowski began her tenure at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2000 as the director of resource management. In her current role, Gniazdowski guides and directs all school-based resources to provide a sustained solid foundation for our successful academic and research programs.  She has worked tirelessly to leverage a wide range of financial and facilities-based resources to position the school as a campus and SUNY leader.

"I’m honored to be selected as Chair-elect for the AACP AFO-SIG," Gniazdowski says. "It has allowed me the opportunity to network and grow with a group of innovative and talented members, for which I am very grateful.  I look forward to providing opportunities to engage members on topics relating to financial health of our schools from a revenue and cost perspective and how our work as business officers can support important EDI initiatives."

Gniazdowski is also involved in various university committees, including the Policy Review Group, Unit Business Officers, Faculty Student Association Board of Directors and the Financial Advisory Committee and is also a member of National Association of College and University Business Officers and College and University Professional Association for Human Resources.
