Jason Sprowl, PhD

Jason Sprowl, PhD, has been appointed Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Sprowl’s research focuses on the role of xenobiotic transporters in the disposition and adverse effect potential of drugs. His work is translational and is providing new insights into pharmacogenetic and other determinants of variability in drug toxicities.

His post-doctoral research fellowship took place in at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where he assessed the role of solute carriers in the severity of toxicities and inter-patient variability associated with the use of anticancer drugs. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at D’Youville College’s School of Pharmacy.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Sprowl to the faculty, and his addition further enhances our strategic strengths in pharmacogenetics, pharmacokinetics and toxicodynamics,” says Donald Mager, PharmD, PhD, FCP, professor and vice-chair, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
