This program is intended for pharmacists in all practice settings and satisfies the requirement for training to dispense self-administered hormonal contraceptives pursuant to the New York State standing order.
IMPORTANT: If you have already taken the online home study version of this CE activity, you may NOT receive CPE credit for the live version of this activity as this is the same activity offered in a live format.
The New York Birth Control Access Act was signed into law on May 2, 2023 and authorizes pharmacists to “Execute a non-patient specific order for the dispensing of self-administered contraceptives prescribed or ordered by the commissioner of health, a physician licensed in this state, or a nurse practitioner certified in this state."
Registered pharmacists in good standing completing appropriate training programs deemed appropriate by the New York State Education Department may utilize the standing order to dispense self-administered hormonal contraceptives to patients. This continuing education activity will satisfy this requirement.
