Nicholas Fusco, PharmD, has been appointed interim executive director for Interprofessional Education (IPE) for health sciences where he will guide the University at Buffalo’s continued ascent as a national leader in collaborative health care education.

The project, which included UB’s Center for Integrated Global Biomedical Sciences, aims to keep hospitals and schools clean from viruses, microbial growth.

Waheed Adedeji will soon launch a clinical trial in Nigeria, exploring the pharmacokinetic interaction between the antidepressant fluoxetine and the antiviral drug Dolutegravir, which fights HIV. 

From harnessing AI to help children with speech and language impairments to drilling through 1,600 feet of ice, UB's list of accomplishments in 2023 was nothing short of spectacular.

More than 300 volunteers from across UB provided services, including surgery, cleanings and X-rays, valued at roughly $93,500.

To address the increasingly urgent needs of the growing population of adults aged 65 years and older, UB will dedicate $4 million to aging-related research.
