Hoefer appointed Director of On-line Programs and Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs

Carrie Hoefer, PhD, MBA, has been appointed Director of On-line Programs and Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs at the University at Buffalo (UB) School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPPS), effective January 2023. She will also hold academic rank as a clinical assistant professor.

Hoefer received her BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2010 and her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialization in Pharmacogenomics and Epigenetics in 2015, with both degrees from UB. In 2016, she completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Epidemiology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. From 2016-2019 Hoefer served as Assistant Professor at Manchester University where she launched the university’s first master’s degree program in Pharmacogenomics, both on-campus and online. Hoefer received her MBA from Indiana University in 2019, then joined OmniSeq as a Clinical Scientific Curator in 2020. Most recently she served as Director of Pharmacogenomics and Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati where she developed a comprehensive online MS program in Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Healthcare.

At UB, Hoefer will lead the development, implementation, marketing and evaluation of on-line BS and MS degree programs with strategic on-line course development and course content. She will also assist faculty in the development of on-line curriculum along with school-wide assessment efforts to evaluate on-line program outcomes and growth.

Hoefer brings to UB SPPS highly strategic course implementation techniques, unique instructional design modules, and experience guiding faculty and coordinating across teams.
