MS in Pharmacometrics and Personalized Pharmacotherapy

This unique graduate program focuses on advanced training in pharmacokinetics (study of absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of drugs) and pharmacodynamics (study of drug effects and toxicity in treatment of diseases) to enhance personalized medicine.

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in pharmacy, biochemistry, chemistry, biology, engineering or other science
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Demonstrated proficiency in mathematics and computational sciences.
  • Calculus I (Calculus II is highly recommended).
  • Two letters of recommendation from faculty knowledgeable of the student's ability and capability. Evaluators should comment on laboratory research, communication skills, creativity, and intangibles in the student's academic performance. An email request will be sent directly to your recommenders when you submit your application for formal review.
  • Personal statement: the personal statement is a general statement of purpose describing academic, professional, and research interests and should be no more than 500 words.
  • Prior research experience and co-authorship in scientific publications are considered favorably.

Transcripts
Submit transcripts for every college or university attended. At the point of application, submit unofficial transcripts. If admitted, official transcripts will be required to matriculate. Do not mail any official documents unless requested.

Letters of Recommendation
Letters of recommendation are required. Enter contact information for letter writers when filling out the application, and they will be notified automatically and sent a link to submit their letter. In your portal, can check the status of the letters, send reminders, or edit recommenders.

Personal Statement and Resume/CV
Submit both of these items in your status portal after application submission.

Submit Test Scores Electronically
GRE is optional

In-State Residency Tuition
In order to qualify for the in-state residency tuition rate, you are required to provide residency documentation indicating you have lived in New York State (NYS) 12 months prior to your semester start date. If accepted, you will need to upload 3 documents to qualify for the in-state tuition rate. See Verifying New York State Residency for more information.
