About Student Success Coaching

What does a Student Success Coach do?

  • A success coach is a professional staff member whose purpose is to support students as they transition to college or professional level coursework. Coaches help students adjust to campus, connect with resources, advocate for themselves, and develop skills necessary to be successful at UB and beyond. If you have questions and are not sure who to ask, your success coach is a great place to start!
  • Success coaches are not academic/faculty advisors. If you have questions about what classes to take or graduation requirements, undergraduate students should contact their academic advisor, and professional students should contact their faculty advisor

Who can meet with a Student Success Coach? How do I know if I have a Student Success Coach?

  • Our SPPS student success coach is available to first-year undergraduate pharmacy students as well as students who are in their first year of the PharmD program (P1 students).
  • Students can determine if they have a success coach by signing into Navigate and trying to book a ‘Success Coach’ appointment. If you do not see this option, do not hesitate to reach out to a staff member in the Office of Student Success and Engagement. Our team is here to support and connect you with our success coach!
