BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Michael Danilov, PharmD ‘21, was honored by the National Community Pharmacist Association Foundation with a 2020 Presidential Scholarship.  He was one of only fifteen students nationally to receive this award.

The scholarship is given to student leaders with a demonstrated interest in independent pharmacy, as well as involvement in extracurricular activities and scholastic success.

NCPA has had a tremendous impact on Danilov. The organization’s mentorship program matched him with local pharmacy leaders (including alumnus Stephen Giroux, BS ’81) who helped him create the first student-operated flu clinic in New York State. He also attributes his success in regional and national business plan competitions to his mentors--his team won first place in the 2019 Pharmacists Society of the State of New York (PSSNY) Business Plan Competition.

“NCPA has been a stepping stone for my pharmacy career pathway,” he says. “The organization instilled in me a passion for helping those who cannot help themselves.”

For over 130 years, the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has continually been a leader in the education of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, renowned for innovation in clinical practice and research. The school is accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) and is the No. 1 ranked school of pharmacy in New York State and No. 14 in the United States by U.S. News & World Report.
