BUFFALO, N.Y. -- William Prescott, Jr., PharmD, chair and clinical professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, was elected to the inaugural American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Special Interest Group Cabinet Administrative Board.
The Administrative Board is the formal leadership structure of the Special Interest Group (SIG) Cabinet and is comprised of the elected leaders from each group. It represents and advocates for the collective interests of the association's SIGs.
Prescott most recently was chair (2018-2019) and immediate past chair (2019-2020) of the Pediatric Pharmacy SIG. The inaugural Administrative Board will begin their service now and serve until July 2022.
Prescott received his PharmD from the University at Buffalo in 2002 and completed two years of pediatric residency training at the University of Michigan. He was first appointed to the faculty in 2004 and promoted to clinical professor in 2018. He currently serves as chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
His educational scholarship focuses on the study of teaching and learning. His clinical and research scholarship focuses on pediatric infectious diseases and pulmonary disease—he has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and abstracts.
Prescott is also on the editorial board of the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education and a member of the board of directors of the New York State Council of Health-System Pharmacists.
