PharmD students earn regional leadership roles for APhA-ASP

Two students from the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences will serve as regional officers for the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) Region 1, representing seven northeastern states from Maine to New York.

Caroline Irwin, PharmD ’23, was elected to serve as APhA-ASP Regional Delegate for Region 1, and Victoria Lyle, PharmD ’24, was elected to serve as APhA-ASP Regional Member-at-large.

As the Regional Delegate, Irwin will promote policy and advocacy activities, and will represent student pharmacists in the APhA House of Delegates.

“I hope to empower student pharmacists to make meaningful changes to the field of pharmacy and aid in the progression of the profession into the future,” she says.

Lyle’s duties as Regional Member at Large include increasing student involvement on a regional and national level, and maintaining communication between chapters for membership, patient care and APhA-ASP/IPSF activities.

“My aim is to increase membership within the chapters in our region so that students make the most out of the opportunities that APhA-ASP has to offer,” she says.

The mission of the APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists is to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, to improve patient care, and to envision and advance the future of pharmacy.
