PharmD student wins Best Student Poster at ACCP Annual Meeting

Jiajie Guan, PharmD ’22, received the Best Student Poster Award for his poster titled Association between Potentially Inappropriate Medication Prescribing and Health-related Quality of Life among U.S. Older Adults at the 2021 American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Annual Meeting, held virtually.

Jiajie Guan, PharmD '22

The project examined the association between the use of potentially inappropriate medications and health-related quality of life among older adults in the US. It is an extension of previous research that investigated the impact of these medications on healthcare utilization and costs.

The team’s findings suggest that the use of potentially inappropriate medications can negatively impact quality of life in terms of health and wellness.
