Pharmacy Legislative Advocacy Invitational Day (PLAID) took
place on Wednesday, Nov. 30, in Kapoor Hall on the University at
Buffalo South Campus. This annual event is an opportunity for
pharmacy students to discuss new legislation that affects health
care with area legislators.
On Oct. 20, students from the Collegiate Science and Technology
Entry Program (CSTEP) were welcomed to Kapoor Hall to learn about
the field of pharmacy and on how to apply to pharmacy school
through the Rx for Success event hosted annually by the
Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA).
In response to the recent tragedies related to Hurricane
Matthew, Lambda Kappa Sigma (LKS) and Student Pharmacists for
Global Outreach (SPGO) joined together to hold a disaster relief
fundraiser on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical
Sciences and the School of Public Health and Health Professions are
collaborating to improve the health of local older adults through
the new Interprofessional Falls Risk Reduction Program.
PharmD/MBA students Bisi Aiyelabowo, '17, Ishita Mehta, '17, and
Laura Bielecki, '18, are featured in the Autumn 2016 issue of
Buffalo Business, a magazine for alumni and friends of the UB
School of Management.
During the month of July, members of Student Pharmacists for
Global Outreach (SPGO) had the opportunity to volunteer at Remote
Area Medical (RAM), one of the largest free clinics in the US, in
Wise County, VA.
