The Omega chapter of Rho Chi Honor Society granted new membership to 27 second-year students at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

An induction dinner was held Feb. 21 at the Foundry Suites in Buffalo to commemorate the academic achievements of the new members. More than 50 students, faculty and guests attended.

Rho Chi honored two faculty members at the event:

  • Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice Calvin Meaney was awarded with the 2019 Rho Chi Excellence in Teaching Award.
  • Clinical Professor and Interim Chair of Pharmacy Practice William Prescott Jr. was awarded with the 2019 Rho Chi Outstanding Alumni Award.

Rho Chi is a national pharmacy honor society that promotes high scholarship. On the basis of their academic standing (top 20% of their class), students may be invited to membership in their second year of study.

For over 130 years, the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has continually been a leader in the education of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, renowned for innovation in clinical practice and research. The school is accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) and ranked as one of the top 25 schools of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences in the United States.
