SPGO volunteers at Remote Area Medical

During the month of July, members of Student Pharmacists for Global Outreach (SPGO) had the opportunity to volunteer at Remote Area Medical (RAM), one of the largest free clinics in the US, in Wise County, VA.

With faculty members Kalpesh Desai, senior research scientist, pharmacy practice, and Edward Russak, senior research scientist, pharmacy practice, 11 UB School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences students collaborated with other healthcare professional to provide valuable pharmacy services and interacted with patients in a rural out-patient setting. At the end of the event, Remote Area Medical helped 2,111 patients with over $1.2 million worth of medical services.
