As part of National Falls Prevention Awareness Day (Sept. 22), six SPPS students and nine physical therapy students visited with at-risk adults at the Baptist Manor Senior Apartments and provided them with balance and strength assessments, evaluation of their medications for fall risk-increasing drugs and individualized action plans to be shared with their primary care physicians.

The program is spearheaded by Robert Wahler, PharmD, clinical assistant professor of pharmacy practice; Patricia Ohtake, PT, PhD, associate professor of rehabilitation science; and Peter Brody, PharmD, clinical assistant professor of pharmacy practice.
