Plewinski and Lanza elected APhA-ASP regional officers

Region 1 includes 18 schools of pharmacy from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

As Regional Member-at-large, Plewinski will serve as moderator for sessions at the APhA-ASP Midyear Regional Meeting, APhA Annual Meeting and APhA-ASP Summer Leadership Institute. She will also work with the other regional officers, including Lanza, to maintain good communication within Region 1 and provide updated information on APhA and APhA-ASP opportunities to members, ensuring each chapter has the resources necessary to be successful.

"This position allows me to connect nationwide with student pharmacists and professionals," Plewinski said. "I am very passionate about APhA-ASP as an organization and I hope I can pass my passion on to other student pharmacists."

As Midyear Regional Marketing Coordinator, Lanza is responsible for assisting APhA staff in planning, promoting, and executing the APhA-ASP Midyear Regional Meeting (MRM). Because Plewinski and Lanza are the only two regional officers (out of the 24 total nationwide) to be from the same school, Buffalo has been chosen as the location for the 2018 APhA-ASP MRM.  

The mission of the APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists is to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, to improve patient care, and to envision and advance the future of pharmacy.
