Two Department of Pharmacy Practice faculty members were honored at the Pharmacists Association of Western New York (PAWNY) annual banquet on Friday, June 8.

Karl Fiebelkorn, BS ’78 & MBA '88, Senior Associate Dean for Student, Professional and Community Affairs, was inducted into the PAWNY Hall of Fame to honor his lifelong work in the profession and the community.

Fiebelkorn has been a full-time faculty member at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (UB SPPS) since 1995. He teaches several subject areas, including pharmacy law, pharmacy management and administration, and pharmacist immunization. He is a member and officer of numerous professional organizations and also advises several professional student organizations at the school.

Fiebelkorn has been the recipient of many awards including the 2008 UB SPPS Teacher of the Year Award, the 2008 National Community Pharmacists Association Faculty Excellence Award, the 2009 Pharmacists Society of the State of New York Faculty Excellence Award, the 2009 PAWNY Community Service Award, the 2009 Western New York Society of Health Systems Pharmacy Robert M. Cooper Award, the 2011 Pharmacists Society of the State of New York (PSSNY) Jack Nicolais Award, the 2013 PSSNY Distinguished Pharmacy Educator Award, and the 2014 American Pharmacists Association/PSSNY Bowl of Hygeia Award.

Christopher Daly, PharmD/MBA ‘12, clinical assistant professor, pharmacy practice, was recognized as Pharmacist of the Year by PAWNY, for his unswerving devotion and service to the profession.

Daly has been an active advocate for community pharmacy for over 10 years. His work seeks to establish a community pharmacy practice-based research network, developing various pharmacy models in the Western New York region. His academic and research passions are innovative community pharmacy models, entrepreneurialism, social and administrative pharmacy practice sciences, and clinical-based outcomes research.

In 2016, Daly received the PAWNY Distinguished Young Pharmacists Award and the UB SPPS Department of Pharmacy Faculty Service Award, and in 2017 he was honored with the Excellence in Innovation Award from the Pharmacists Society of the State of New York, NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, and Upsher-Smith Laboratories.
