Members of the National Community Pharmacists Association Student Chapter at SPPS held a wellness clinic at Transit Hill Pharmacy on Jan. 23, 2017.

Alumus James Walsh, '01 & '04, is the supervising pharmacist at Transit Hill, an independent retail pharmacy in Depew, NY. Kyle Uebler, '18, on rotation at the pharmacy, and Mercede Siu, '20, worked with Walsh to coordinate the event. Students counseled patients on cold and flu prevention tactics such as frequent hand washing and increasing Vitamin C. They also took blood pressure readings.

The National Community Pharmacists Association represents the interests of pharmacists who practice in independently owned pharmacies. The student chapter promotes the educational and practice interests of students interested in community pharmacy practice in the independent pharmacy setting.
