It instills the business background and health science skills necessary to enter leadership positions in health care and beyond. Our Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)/Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PhD) program integrates the skills and knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice with a focus on cutting-edge research for the development of treatments to prevent disease and improve health. We offer collaborative programs that involve advanced coursework and intense graduate level research training in the Pharmaceutical Sciences. The PharmD/PhD in pharmaceutical sciences typically takes seven years.
We are one of a select group of pharmacy schools to offer a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)/Juris Doctorate (JD) program.*
Our program is designed to respond to the shifting dynamics in the delivery of health care, providing the scientific and legal training to excel in careers in biotechnology, intellectual property and the pharmaceutical industry.
*PharmD/JD students must complete the respective programs sequentially and may not step out by year from one program to the other. If a PharmD student takes a leave of absence, they must be aware that the LSAT or GRE could expire before application to the JD program and may need to be retaken.
Combined UB degrees give you the unique opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) in just seven years of study.
