Buprenorphine Education Program

The Center for HOPE is currently developing a two-part buprenorphine education program.  The goal of this program is to increase the number of patients in New York State being treated for opioid use disorder (OUD) with buprenorphine.

One part of this program will include academic educators visiting prescribers’ offices to provide education on the use of buprenorphine.  This education will reinforce that which was obtained via buprenorphine waiver training. Four short educational modules are available, and the prescribers will receive continuing medical education credits for their participation.  This education can be provided in one or multiple visits.

The second part of the buprenorphine education program will be an enduring buprenorphine educational presentation.  This presentation will be housed on the SPPS Continuing Education platform.  Content will be based primarily on the educational modules developed for the detailing program.  Continuing Medical Education credits will be provided for prescriber participation.
