The institute, hosted by the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (UB SPPS), will provide over 115 students with a virtual in-depth educational program showcasing the ins and outs of pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical sciences.

Innovative sessions will include patient counseling, compounding of medications, interprofessional education and other clinically-focused health care activities. Participants will take video tours of local clinical practices and research labs, and watch interactive lectures by UB SPPS faculty and alumni on topics ranging from vaccinations to medical marijuana.

“We feel fortunate to have the opportunity to virtually host our program this year,” says Jennifer Rosenberg, UB SPPS associate dean for admissions and advisement. “We’re excited to engage with talented students who are interested in a career in health care.”

The institute also highlights unique educational opportunities at UB SPPS, including the school’s notable 24 professional student organizations, and career-distinguishing dual degrees and micro-credential programs. High school student attendees can also get personalized recommendations on courses to take to prepare for undergraduate pharmacy course work.
