Fulton Montgomery Community College establishes educational partnership with UB pharmacy school

Fulton Montgomery Community College (FMCC) and the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences have formed a new collaborative agreement that will provide students the opportunity to earn a doctor of pharmacy degree in a shorter amount of time

A memorandum of agreement was formally signed by Dr. Greg Truckenmiller, FMCC Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dr. James O’Donnell, dean of the UB School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Dr. Truckenmiller, FM’s Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, states, “We are pleased to offer this opportunity for FMCC students to build on the excellent educational foundation that FMCC provides by giving them access to the best pharmacy program in New York State.”

Under the 2+4 agreement, students will complete two years of undergraduate study at FMCC and then apply to UB’s pharmacy program. Discussing the UB-FMCC partnership, Dean O’Donnell said, “The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences values our collaboration with FMCC and this 2+4 agreement will further solidify our strong partnership. We look forward to having their best and brightest students as members of our PharmD program.”

For over 130 years, the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has continually been a leader in the education of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, renowned for innovation in clinical practice and research. The school is accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) and is the No. 1 ranked school of pharmacy in New York State and No. 22 in the United States.
