Meet Our 2022-2023 Residents

PGY1 Pharmacy Resident, UB SPPS/Buffalo Psychiatric Center

Dr. Samara White is from San Jose, California. She studied Cognitive Science at UC Berkeley and was a diver on their NCAA Championship-winning team. Prior to earning her PharmD degree from the University of Southern California, Dr. White worked as a certified personal trainer and as a caregiver to minority women experiencing acute psychiatric conditions & developmental disorders. She is a proponent of mental & physical health, wellness, and mindfulness. Dr. White is also passionate about improving health literacy, access, and trust in minority populations as well as decreasing stigma associated with mental health disorders and medications. In her free time, Dr. White enjoys participating in a broad range of fitness activities, especially powerlifting, calisthenics, and biking. Dr. White also enjoys cooking, sewing, and travelling to tropical destinations.  

PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Resident, UB SPPS/Middleport Family Health Center

Dr. Quyen Nguyen is from Canandaigua, NY and received her PharmD from St. John Fisher University, Wegmans School of Pharmacy in Rochester, NY. Her clinical interests include ambulatory care, diabetes, chronic disease states management, and underserved patient populations. In her free time, Dr. Nguyen likes to binge watch Netflix, take walks, and find the best boba place around the area.

Dr. Jeuel Leigh Bayawa is from Oceanside, NY and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from St. John’s University. Her professional interests include ambulatory care, diabetes management, and academia. Outside of pharmacy, Dr. Bayawa enjoys finding new restaurants to dine in, baking/eating sweets and spending time with family and friends.
