Division Head: Outcomes and Practice Advancement (OPA)
The Outcomes and Practice Advancement (OPA) Division Head, a key strategic leadership position with the Department of Pharmacy Practice, will lead a multidisciplinary team of a world‐class faculty driving change at the convergence of practice and education, where practitioners, educators, and scholars work alongside each other to implement and evaluate innovations in healthcare delivery and education.
OPA Division Overview
The Division of Outcomes and Practice Advancement is centered on advancing the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences practice and research mission while also supporting its educational mission.
Activities include:
- Implementing innovative pharmacy practice models
- Advancing collaborative practice and patient‐care experiences for students, bridging education and practice
- Improving population‐based healthcare and decision making
- Advocating for advancement of the profession in collaboration with state and national pharmacy associations
- Engaging in health outcomes and clinical research
Position Overview
The OPA Division Head will hold the rank of (clinical) associate professor or (clinical) full professor.
Demonstration of leadership and engagement in and sustained contributions to the practice of pharmacy, pharmacy education, and clinical/outcomes‐based research is preferred.
Candidates must possess a strong track record of scholarship with the most qualified candidates demonstrating prior leadership and management experiences or ability to clearly articulate their motivation and potential to do so.
Candidates must also possess high level communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to bring together faculty to strategically plan and execute; be a team player, with experience managing, leading, and developing people; and be able to articulate and advocate a shared vision for advancing pharmacy practice, research/scholarship, and education.
