The State University of New York (SUNY) began a partnership with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Drug Utilization Review (DUR) Program in 2008. The goal of the partnership is to provide evidence-based, non-commercial clinical reviews coupled with academic analysis of drug utilization to improve safe and cost-effective use of medications in the NY Medicaid population.
A team of cHOPE clinical pharmacists and data analysts at University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (UB SPPS) conducts DUR reviews with analytic support from information technology experts at Stony Brook University (SBU).
