Deadlines
We generally do not admit MS or PhD
students to begin in the Spring semester, since new financial
support is not generally available at that time, and many course
sequences begin in the Fall semester. Admission and financial
assistance (the latter to PhD students only) are awarded on a
competitive basis to qualified applicants. Students must be first
admitted by the Department before a faculty advisor is chosen.
Thus, an applicant must seek admission from the Department, even
though s/he may have preference regarding joining a particular
laboratory.
