Dr. Aiming Yu is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York (UB). Dr. Yu obtained his Ph.D. from Nankai University in Tianjin, China in 1998. He then worked at University of Washington (Seattle, WA) and West Virginia University (Morgantown, WV) as a postdoctoral research associate, and National Cancer Institute (Bethesda, MD) as a research fellow. His research areas include pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenetics, drug metabolism, drug-drug interactions and bioanalysis. He is interested in developing and applying novel in vitro and in vivo models, and chemical and biological approaches to investigate the function and regulation of human Cytochrome P450s. In particular, efforts in his laboratory are aimed at elucidating the role of P450s in biotransformation of therapeutic drugs, endogenous neuroregulators and steroids, and the impact on P450 gene expression by these xenobiotics and endobiotics. He is a member of ISSX.
