Editorial Board

Anthony Pattin, PharmD, is a clinical associate professor in the Division of Outcomes and Practice Advancement (OPA) in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (UB SPPS). He coordinates and teaches pharmacy law and maintains an experiential training site and research program in community pharmacy practice.

Pattin earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Toledo in 2009 and completed a PGY1 Community Pharmacy residency with the University of Toledo from 2009 to 2010. Following a 5-year post at Wayne State University as a clinical assistant professor, he returned to the University of Toledo in 2015 and was promoted to an associate professor with tenure in 2021.

Pattin’s research interests include studying issues related to African Americans’ use of pharmacy-based immunization services and the impact of medication synchronization on medication adherence and cardiovascular disease. In 2016, Pattin was accepted in a competitive research training program funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) to improve grantsmanship skills and competitiveness for funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Debra B. Feinberg is a New York Registered Pharmacist who received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Albany College of Pharmacy and her Juris Doctor from Albany Law School.  She is an Assistant Professor at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences teaching Jurisprudence and is a member of the Experiential Education Division coordinating student Assessments and Portfolios.

Professor Jadoch joined D'Youville College of Pharmacy as an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical, Social and Administrative Sciences in 2011. He previously served as Director of Pharmacy at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY, Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville, NY and Pharm Health Infusion in Rochester, NY.

His experience as a pharmacist includes positions at Sisters of Charity Hospital and Blue Cross of Western New York in Buffalo. He practiced as an Associate Attorney with the litigation firm Magner, Love & Morris, PC in Buffalo and as Assistant Counsel in the Legal Department at Independent Health Association in Williamsville, New York. Professor Jadoch is a member of the American Society for Pharmacy Law, the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the New York State Council of Health-System Pharmacists, the Western New York Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the New York State Bar Association, and the Bar Association of Erie County.

He has served in various leadership roles, including President and Director of Pharmaco-legal Affairs for the Western New York Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and is currently serving in his second term as Vice President of Public Policy for the New York State Council of Health-System Pharmacists. He is a founder and coordinator of community drug disposal events. Each year he looks forward to accompanying pharmacy students to meet with legislators in the state capital on Pharmacy Day. Professor Jadoch is a member of the New York State Bar and is licensed as a Pharmacist in New York State.

Dr. Karl Gerard Williams serves as Professor and Vice Chair of Pharmacy Practice and has been a member of the Wegmans School of Pharmacy faculty since 2007. He teaches courses in Pharmacy Law, Ethics, and Counseling. His continuing professional mission is to improve public health through direct patient education; enabling patients to identify therapeutic effect, recognize and manage side-effects, and achieve success in pharmacotherapy.

Prior to joining St John Fisher College, Dr. Williams served on the faculty at the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy and St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health. In addition he has maintained clinical and administrative practice for over 30 years at Myers Community Hospital, Moses Ludington Hospital, Mckesson Medication Management, and Little Falls Hospital.

Williams earned his B.S. in Pharmacy from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In addition, he has earned an M.S. from the University of Rochester Toxicology Training Program, J.D. from the University of Kentucky, and an LL.M. in Law and Technology from the Syracuse University.

He has authored over 100 scholarly works with interests relating to patient safety, risk minimization, professional practice, civil rights, labor, ethical corporate management, and education. Dr. Williams is a contributing member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Pharmacy Practice. He is licensed to practice pharmacy in New York, Kentucky, the New England states, and Pennsylvania, and is admitted to practice of law in New York and Kentucky.

Including serving as General Counsel to the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education, Dr. Williams is active in numerous professional organizations, including the Chair of the Biologics Law Committee in the New York State Bar Association Food and Drug Law Section, past-president the Pharmacy Society of Rochester and the Rochester-area Society of Health System Pharmacists. In addition, he is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Pharmacists Society of the State of New York. Dr. Williams serves as a pro bono trial officer on the Surrogate Decision Making Committee for the NYS Justice Center.

The students of Wegmans School of Pharmacy have honored Dr. Williams with the Teacher of the Year award in 2008 and 2010, and the Advisor of the Year Award in 2014.

Mrs. Cooper is currently a registered pharmacist and has a master’s degree in pharmaceutics at the University of Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She worked as a support specialist for the compounding lab in the Department of Pharmacy from 1996 to 2007. She is also the laboratory supervisor for Dr. Kathleen M. Tornatore-Morse at the NYS Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics & Life Sciences.

She has worked as the project pharmacist for the Research Pharmacy since 1998 and collaborated with other principal investigators on numerous research projects and clinical trials within University at Buffalo, as well as several teaching hospitals.
