University of Rochester establishes educational partnership with UB pharmacy school

The University of Rochester and the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (UB SPPS) have formed a new collaborative agreement that will provide students the opportunity to complete the University of Rochester Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health Program and a UB Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

A memorandum of agreement was formally signed in August 2017 by the Dean of the University of Rochester’s College of Arts, Sciences & Engineering, Jeffrey Runner; Dr. James O’Donnell, dean of the UB School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences; Dr. Michael Cain, vice president for health sciences and dean of the UB Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences; and, Dr. Graham Hammill, vice provost and dean of the Graduate School at UB.

Designed for career changers, the University of Rochester’s Post-baccalaureate Pre-health Program (PBPH) serves to prepare individuals seeking admission to health professions schools. By completing pre-requisite coursework at a top-tier research university, and receiving both personalized career education and connections to clinical and research opportunities, PBPH students leave ready to begin their professional training.

Discussing the UB-Rochester partnership, Dean O’Donnell said, “The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences values our strong collaboration with University of Rochester, and this educational agreement will further solidify this partnership. We look forward to having their best and brightest students as members of our PharmD program.”
