"Use your classmates to help get through exams, learn through their internship experiences and for camaraderie!"

I am a Class of 2011 graduate of UB’s prestigious PharmD program.

A few years ago I was where you are now, wondering what pharmacy school was really going to be like. There is a lot to look forward to and, based on my personal experience, here are three distinctive aspects of UB’s program that have allowed me to be happy at UB and successful as an alumnus:

  1. Get involved
This is something you definitely should do! Whether it is joining a student organization, engaging in research, or volunteering, it is important to get involved and make connections. Building relationships with alumni and current professions will help you better understand what you’d like to get from your pharmacy career!
  2. Sign up to engage with our alumni
SPPS offers a mentor program that can pair you with a Dean’s Alumni Ambassador. I was able to be mentored by professors and preceptors with different backgrounds and pharmacy careers—this was VERY important in shaping my career vision and helping me get where I am today!
  3. Leverage your classmates
The pharmacy classes are like a big family...that you go to class with! Use your classmates to help get through exams, learn through their internship experiences and for camaraderie!
