PharmD Academic Programs

Pharmacy Practice Academic Programs.

Our graduates are among the most sought-after in the country.  As part of a program that promotes excellence and integrity, we prepare the pharmacist, as a therapeutic drug manager, to be a member of the health-care team working with physicians, non-physician providers, and other allied health professionals.

The PharmD program is a four-year professional program, following undergraduate pre-pharmacy coursework. It is a professional degree that enables one to work as a pharmacist, interacting with patients and other health care practitioners for matters involving treatment by medications.

Incoming freshmen entering UB directly from high school who indicate pharmacy as their intended major are automatically admitted to UB's Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree program through our prestigious Early Assurance (EA) Program.

We offer a variety of dual/collaborative degree programs, which allow you to save time, money and increase your employment marketability by combining two interests into one program.

Residencies are postgraduate training programs that provide essential clinical training for advancement within the profession of pharmacy.

The Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education provides continuing pharmacy education activities to pharmacists in all practice settings designed to maintain competence and strive to bridge identified gaps in knowledge and skills.

We offer an introductory program that is diverse and progressive in nature throughout all three years of the PharmD curriculum leading up and preparing each student for their final year of full-time, advanced pharmacy practice experiences.
