Three pharmaceutical sciences students received awards at the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Annual Meeting and Exposition in Orlando, FL.

The AAPS Graduate Student Research Award in Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, Drug Metabolism and Clinical Pharmacology and Translational Research awards were given to:

  • Xu Zhu, for her poster entitled, “Network Analysis of Proteomics of Gemcitabine and Birinapant Combinations in Pancreatic Cancer Cells”
  • Xi (Cindy) Chen, for her poster entitled, “Pharmacodynamics of Suppression of Free TNF-a by Infliximab in Plasma of Rats”

Also, Xin Miao received the AAPS ePoster Award for her poster entitled, “Dynamic proteomic responses of pancreatic cancer cells during combination exposures to gemcitabine and ecteinascidin Et 743."

An alumni reception was also held in conjunction with the AAPS Annual Meeting and Exposition featuring world-renowned pharmaceutical scientist and emeritus faculty member Dr. Gerhard Levy and his wife, Roz.
