PharmD/MBA

Our Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)/Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program is our most popular dual degree program. It instills the business background and health science skills necessary to enter leadership positions in health care and beyond.

The dual degree program reduces by one year the usual pattern of a four-year PharmD program and a two-year MBA program. It is the longest, most established combined degree program available to our students.

PharmD/MBA Career Opportunities

  • Hospital pharmacy operations
  • Health care business consultation
  • State and federal health regulatory agencies
  • Pharmacy benefit management organizations
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing corporations and marketing
  • Human resource management in health-related corporations
  • Retail pharmacy administration in chain drug industry
  • Ownership opportunities in independent pharmacy

PharmD/MBA Curriculum

Students complete the first professional year in the PharmD curriculum. The second year involves only courses in the MBA program. Coursework in both programs are taken in years three and four, followed by a fifth experiential year in both programs. Each candidate must meet all degree requirements of each school, except for the reduction in total credit hours.
