Why Attend

Pharmacists in all practice settings need a working knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations that govern medication in NYS.  As the scope of practice changes, newer regulations govern the practice in different ways; pharmacists must then assimilate the newer information into existing regulations and practices.  This lecture will be a comprehensive review of practice laws governing pharmacists and pharmacies in NYS and will include newer information on federal and state laws, rules and regulations.  Pharmacists who attend this lecture will be able to review existing regulations and incorporate the new parameters into their individual practice sites.

4. Define the requirements necessary under the Federal Controlled Substance Act for e-prescribing of controlled substances
5. List the requirements that the NYS Bureau of Controlled Substances requires for the e-prescribing of controlled substances and the use of the Prescription Monitoring Program
