Why did you choose pharmacy?
My dad was diagnosed with type II diabetes when I was a freshman at UB. This solidified my decision in becoming a pharmacist to be his support system for medication questions and lifestyle changes; I hope to be able to impact other patients lives in similar ways.
Describe your experience at the UB School of Pharmacy and
I am very grateful for my opportunity to complete my education at UB SPPS. It allowed me to step outside my comfort zone by expanding my professional network, taking on leadership positions, and building my clinical knowledge to become an excellent pharmacist.
What are you doing after graduation?
As a staff pharmacist at South Wedge Pharmacy, I will be responsible for dispensing medications to patients from the surrounding areas as well as patients from the Highland Family Medicine Clinic on site. In addition, I will assist in promoting and organizing their medication synchronization program.
How did UB SPPS help you attain this position?
I believe being a leader in both NCPA and ASCP student chapters helped me achieve my goal of becoming a community pharmacist at Highland South Wedge Pharmacy by giving me communication and organizational skills.
Advice for future UB SPPS students:
Time management, time management, time management! I never would have been able to survive pharmacy school without it.
