Students who are not making satisfactory progress towards their degree will be placed on academic probation. All graduate students are required to maintain a 3.0 or better overall GPA in graduate courses taken toward the Master’s or Doctoral degree. Students who do not have a 3.0 or better will be placed on academic probation. Typically, students will be required to raise their GPA to 3.0 or better as a condition for lifting their probation.
For students in the PharmD/MS and the PharmD/PhD programs, courses taken toward the PharmD degree will not be included in the calculation of the graduate grade point average.
Students are also required to maintain a B- or better in all required courses. Students who do not the minimum grade must repeat the course the next time it is offered and earn a B- or better. At the discretion of the Department’s Graduate Studies Committee, students may be required to repeat other/non-required courses with grades lower than B-.
Students who resign from courses after the drop/add deadline without prior approval from the Director of Graduate Studies may be placed on probation.
