What Can Be Done

Cancer survivors represent both those patients that are living with cancer and those who have had cancer. Everyday the cancer survivor population grows and this population requires special attention to address their complex pharmacotherapy needs. Community pharmacists represent the single most qualified healthcare professionals capable of addressing these needs at the scale necessitated by the enormity of the cancer survivor population. With this in mind CanceRxCE™ was founded to ensure that the appropriate training would be available for community pharmacists to meet the needs of the cancer survivors.

The CanceRxCE Program

The CanceRxCE™ Team sought and secured support from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDoH) to create and pilot the program in the most affected area of the state, New York City. Now, for a limited time, the CanceRxCE™ Program is available to eligible pharmacists in New York City for FREE! The program is all online and lasts for 5 weeks including both online homestudy and live sessions, all componenets are individually accredited to provide upto 40 total hours of Pharmacy Continuing Education credit. Completion of the entire 40 hours of material will also result in the awarding on the Online Oncology Certificate for Community Pharmacists, accredited as a Practice-based CPE activity (previously named Certificate Program in Pharmacy).

The CanceRxCE™ Team is excited to now be able to offer two paid options for pharmacists not eligible for the free program. Please join the CanceRxCE LinkedIn group to receive updates about the program.
